1. Our Core Principle: 100% Local Processing
DiskView is built on a simple philosophy: your storage and files are private. DiskView does not transmit, collect, sync, or sell any information about your files, directory trees, system configuration, or personal identity.
2. Zero Analytics & Zero Trackers
The DiskView application contains:
- NO Google Analytics, Firebase, or telemetry SDKs
- NO crash reporting agents sending code stack traces to third parties
- NO advertising identifiers or fingerprinting scripts
- NO outbound network sockets during scanning or visualization
3. macOS Full Disk Access
When you grant DiskView Full Disk Access, macOS permits the scanner to calculate sizes for protected folders (like ~/Library/Messages and local device backups). All scanning happens in-memory on your CPU and GPU. None of this metadata is ever transmitted outside your Mac.
4. Local JSON Persistence
Previous directory scan trees are cached locally on your device in your user directory (~/Library/Application Support/DiskView) strictly to enable instant reload times. You can purge this cache at any time simply by deleting the folder.
